Alizarin
Alizarin is a top-down seamless sweater, with extra deep, curved armholes and short row set-in sleeves with a dolman fit. The positive ease and wide sleeves make the sweater a cozy layering piece, while the fitted shoulders and ribbing around the armholes give it a graphic edge. The pattern offers two hem options with different widths, as well as two sleeve lengths.
Named after one of Bob Ross’ favourite paint colours, alizarin crimson – I watched a lot of his show The Joy of Painting while knitting this sweater, and when I discovered that the alizarin colour originally came from the madder plant, the namesake of this Kokon yarn colourway, I knew it was more than just a happy little accident.
